Young pawpaw trees need partial shade for the first year or 2 in the ground. These 2.5 foot grow tubes provide the needed shade for young pawpaw trees planted in sunny areas. By the time the tree has reached over 2.5ft in height, it can handle full sunlight. Leave the tube inplace to protect the truck of the tree for 5 years before cutting off and removing. Protecting your pawpaw tree with a grow tube encourages straight, upright growth and protects from deer, rabbits and mowers. If you are also purchasing trees, your tubes will be available for pick up on farm at the same time as your trees.
